The Falkland Islands wolf, also known as the warrah and occasionally as the Falkland Islands dog, Falkland Islands fox, or Antarctic wolf, was a large wolf-like fox that lived in the falkland islands. It was the only native land mammal of the Falkland Islands.
Appearance[]
Though the Falkland Islands wolf was actually a fox, it superficially resembled wolves as a result of convergent evolution.
Diet[]
The Falkland Islands wolf fed on birds (such as penguins and geese), as well as seal pups and insects, and likely also scavenged shores for the remains of marine animals that washed up on the beaches.
