Wakaleo schouteni is an extinct marsupial lion that lived in South Australia during the Miocene epoch of the tertiary period. Wakaleo was a great climber and can jump to catch its prey.

In 1974, W. A. Clemens and M. Plane erected five species of Wakaleo.

It had a pair of sharp incisors for slicing through flesh and a long tail for balance.
