History of The Teddy Bear

During his presidency, Theodore Roosevelt freed a trapped bear. In honor of his act of kindness to the kingdom Animalia, the teddy bear was created and named after him.

  • The Softest Bear In The World was made by the company Gund. He was inspired by a crescent moon. He has taken on many different appearances over the years, but, the original was a Sun Bear and the most famous was a Polar Bear.
  • Winnie The Pooh is a teddy bear from a 1970's movie called The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh. He is also from a book of the same name and a 2011 remake called Winnie The Pooh. His friends are called Kanga, Rabbit, Eeyore, Piglet, Roo, Owl, Tigger, and Christopher Robin. Kanga and Roo are kangaroos, Rabbit is a Rabbit, Owl is an Owl, Tigger is a Bengal tiger, Piglet is a Pig, Eeyore is a Donkey, and Christopher Robin is a human. They go on many adventures with Winnie The Pooh. Winnie The Pooh loves honey.
