The Ring-Tailed Lemur lives in the rainforest of the island of Madagascar.

They have silver bodies and silver limbs. The limbs connect to black hands and feet. They have long, white, flexible tails which have black "rings", hence the naming of the creature. Their underbellies are white. Their ears and noses are black and their silver-furred faces have a dramatic white blotch in the middle. Their eyes have a golden iris.

Ring-Tailed Lemurs live in groups. In these groups, the female is the alpha. These groups mark their territory by making a scent on inanimate objects found in nature. The scent smells pleasant to us, but unpleasant to them. Sometimes, these groups sunbathe.

Ring-Tailed Lemurs In Fiction

In the 2005 CGI film Madagascar, the king of the lemurs is a ring-tailed lemur named King Julien. He is cheerful and goofy. He now has his own television series on Netflix.
