The Osgood's Ethiopian toad (Altiphrynoides osgoodi or Spinophrynoides osgoodi) is a species of toad in the Bufonidae family. It is endemic to the mountains of south-central Ethiopia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland, and intermittent freshwater marshes.

Distribution[]

It was common in the Bale Mountains National Park and other montane environments east of the Great Rift Valley, and was also present in an isolated population in the Guge Mountains. The toad is rare; the last specimen was observed 2003, despite extensive survey work. If it is still extant, it possibly numbers no more than 50 individuals. It is threatened by habitat loss by substistence exploitation of the forests.
