Neoparadoxia cecilialina is an extinct genus of desmostylian mammal that lived in California during the Miocene epoch around 10.5 million years ago. Despite being a hippopotamus-like animal, this semiaquatic herbivore is the closest living relatives to elephants, dugongs, and manatees.
