The mountain goat (Oreamnos americanus), also known as the Rocky Mountain goat is a species of bovid native to the northern Rocky Mountains and beyond. They, as of today, are found in the Northwestern United States and Western Canada. Their native range is through Alberta and British Columbia’s Rockies in Canada, and through scattered populations in Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and Montana. Introduced populations include Oregon, Utah, South Dakota, Nevada and Colorado.

They mostly spend their days eating grass, oats, and barley in the high foothills and mountains of the Rocky Mountain Range. They lie prey to cougars (mountain lions), grey wolves, black bears (periodically), grizzly bears (periodically), coyotes (periodically), wolverines, bald eagles, and golden eagles.
