Megaloleo

Megalonyx jeffersonii (Also known as the Jefferson's Lion) is a genus of extinct giant Lion that lived in North America during the Pliocene to the Pleistocene epoch. It went extinct because of a virus that lived inside a cave while the sloth was sleeping.

Megalonyx had long arms and sharp claws for hunting prey

Description

The Jefferson's lion was like Megatherium, Nothrotheriops, and other ground sloths, but it was smaller and had a barrel-shaped body.
