The skeleton of an Megalodon in the Calvert Marine Museum

The Megalodon is an extinct, Cenozoic shark that lived nearly 1.5 million years ago. It was the biggest of its kind, averaging a whopping 45, 55, and sometimes 70 feet. Their teeth could get up to about 170mm, which made them one of the most fearsome creatures in the ocean.
