Kalina was a 25 year old female orca who was born on September 26, 1985 at SeaWorld Orlando. She was the first killer whale calf to be successfully born and raised in captivity and the first killer whale born at any SeaWorld park. Her mother is Katina and her father is Winston. Kalina passed away from bacteremia septicemia on October 4, 2010.

Kalina was used as a starter whale for trainers learning waterworks but was not the main one. This was Katina, her mother. She was very energetic and loved to please and get attention from trainers. She was known for wanting multiple trainers in the water with her at once.

Kalina gave birth to her first daughter on February 9, 2004. The female calf was named Skyla. Kalina was still raising Tekoa at the time of Skyla's birth. Eventually, her calves and Tekoa were moved to other parks. Although Kalina never went on to have more calves, she often cared for other calves throughout the years. When Taima gave birth to her daughter Malia, Kalina was often with them to help raise Malia. Kalina did very good with other calves and was often around to help teach them waterworks.

Kalina was a rather submissive orca. Ocassionally, Kayla would show aggression to her but Kalina would later put her back in her place. She was a very energetic whale and would put a lot of effort into behaviors. She excelled at double and triple waterworks. She was also very bulky like her mother.

On October 4, 2010, trainers noticed Kalina had started showing signs of illness. Nothing unusual had been observed in the days leading up to her death. Unfortunately she passed away later that day.
