Homo rudolfensis (also Australopithecus rudolfensis) is an extinct species of the Hominini tribe, on the morphological boundary between the genera Homo and Australopithecus. Its lectotype is dated to 1.9 million years old, but closely related fossils are dated to as old as 2.4 million years, or possibly 2.8 million years, close to the Pliocene-Pleistocene boundary.
