The Early Jurassic is the first part of the Jurassic beginning 200 million years ago to 175 million years ago.

The Early Jurassic began when a Volcano activity happened 200 million years ago. Many Triassic animals such as nothosaurs and rhynchosaurs died out while dinosaurs, mammals, Pterosaurs, crocodile like reptiles, and sea reptiles survived. After the extinction event Europe drifted away from North America. While this dinosaurs began to inhabit large numbers of planet Earth. New types of pterosaurs replaced the ones that died during the Late Triassic. A new groups of reptiles such as pliosaurs and plesiosaurs swam in the oceans.
