Suina is a subfamily of of omnivorous non-ruminant even-toed ungulates that includes two families: the Suidae (pigs) and Tayassuidae (peccaries) and their fossil kind. Hippopotamidae has historically been classified among the Suina for morphological reasons, but is now more often classified as the sister group of the family Cetacea (whales).
