Carcharodontosaurus (meaning "shark toothed lizard") (/ˌkɑːrkəroʊˌdɒntoʊˈsɔːrəs/) is a dinosaur that lived in Northern Africa during the Late Cretaceous. It is the 3rd biggest carnivore dinosaur after Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus. The name Carcharodontosaurus means "shark-toothed lizard", because of the similarities, in sharpness and serrations, to the teeth of the Great White Shark.
