Petrunkevitch (1945) named Calcitro fisheri, an extinct species of short-tailed whip scorpion. YPM 17380, an exoskeleton that is a three-dimensional body fossil, is its type specimen. Its type location is Bonner Quarry, Onyx Marble, in the Onyx Marble Formation of Arizona, a Pliocene cave travertine. It is Calcitro's type species.
