Bumper was a 10-year-old male Atlantic harbor seal that lived at Oceans of Fun Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He was born on June 14, 2009, at the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead, New York to Buoy and was the father to Cocoa.
Bumper arrived at Oceans of Fun in January 2012 and had been a spunky young male investigating everything going on around him. He excelled in his training sessions and was eager to learn new behaviors; from husbandry behaviors that assisted with his health care, to high energy behaviors that provided him with mental and physical stimulation. In the summer of 2013, Bumper made his way out to Hersheypark in Hershey, Pennsylvania with two of his flippered friends where he became the star of the show and stole the hearts of our visitors. Bumper was the first seal to make his appearance in Hersheypark, where he was able to educate the public about seals, sea lions, training, and conservation.
Bumper passed away on July 16, 2019.
