The Black-winged monarch (Monarcha frater), is a species of monarch flycatcher in the Monarchidae family.

Appearance[]

They have a length 15–19 centimeters and weight of 17–24 grams. Adult has a vivid pale gray above and in breast, rich orange below, with black wings, face, and tail. Immature flycatchers lack black around the face.

Occurrence[]

It is found in Australia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
