The Banded cotinga (Cotinga maculata), is a species of cotinga in the Cotingidae family. It is endemic to south-east Brazil. The word "cotinga" comes from French cotinga which comes from Old Tupi cutinga .
Its natural habitat is tropical moist lowland forests. It is threatened by habitat loss as its population is estimated to number 250-999 mature individuals.

It inhabits the canopy of the lowland Atlantic forest, and has a diet of seeds, berries, fruit, caterpillars, and other insects.
