The Andean cat is a rare and solitary animal that lives on land above 3,000 m (9,800 feet) in the central Andes. Very little is known about this small wild cat, and it is not directly threatened by human activity. However, it is considered endangered due to it's rarity rather than because of hunting or habitat destruction.
