It is found in Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zambia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
